The birds are back and the race to find a good nesting spot is in full swing. Birds will build nests in some strange spots, so keep an eye out for nesting activity on your property.
The Migratory Bird Treaty Act protects birds and their active nests, so if there are eggs, you’re stuck with the nest until the baby birds are no longer dependant on it.
Birds will nest in your ATV, your camper, even your house! If you see a nest being built in a place that is not ideal, make sure you deter the construction as soon as possible, once there are eggs or bruding adults, it’s too late, and you could face penalties for interfering with them or their nest.
