Operation Safe Streets has apprehended at least 38 undocumented immigrants and their state side smugglers in the last ten days. The Sierra Vita Report is tracking these apprehensions via the Cochise County Sheriff’s Facebook page. The latest of the encounters ended with the US citizen smuggler and four undocumented immigrants fleeing from a traffic stop on foot. The deputy was able to detain 3 of the 5, and minutes later, border patrol agents acquired the remaining two.
